0067 was new to Green Lane depot in August 1983, where it worked mainly on the 9A/9C/10/10D (Prescot Road corridor), the 11, 12/12A/12C, 18C/18D, 75 (West Derby Road corridor) and 17C/17D (Utting Avenue corridor) until November 1992. Then, following refurbishment at Edge Lane Works, where it was soft trimmed and fitted with coach seats, it went to Laird Street to operate the new Silver Service routes 410 and 411. It was based at Laird Street from November 1992 until October 1996, when it was transferred to Speke depot for its last month, until withdrawal from service at the end of November 1996. It was sold to a dealer by MTL.
It was assumed to have been scrapped long ago, but an enthusiast visiting Smith's Coaches of Patna, Ayr, spotted it in their yard and he sent an e-mail around to inform us it was still surviving. We made contact with Smith's Coaches, and went to see it on 1st June 2010. A deal was done, then it was towed from Ayr to Burscough on 19th July 2010 arriving at around midnight that evening. It requires a starter motor and batteries then it should run.
The plan is to restore 0067 back to "as new" condition in the very near future.
