We receive many enquiries about hiring buses for weddings and events. Unfortunately, as we are a charity concerned with vehicle preservation, all our buses are historic items. We do not hold an Operator's Licence, and therefore cannot use any of our buses to carry passengers for hire or reward - sorry!
The Merseyside Transport Trust have supplied buses for the Film & Television industry for a number of years.
We can help for appearance work, especially in film, TV and exhibitions. We have vehicles that are historically accurate from 1940s to 1980s - so if your street scene requires a bus, then the Trust can help.
Many of the Trust’s collection can be available with sufficient notice.
Even many of the Trust’s smaller objects can be hired as props - maybe you need to place that street conversation scene at a 1950s Liverpool bus stop, or you need a bus just in the background, maybe your bus conductor needs a ticket machine from that era? For all your hire or appearance requirements please get in touch through the "Contact us" page.
Past appearances of Trust vehicles include the following:
* And The Beat Goes On (Channel 4 drama serial).
* The Dressmaker.
* Free as a Bird (Beatles music video) 1998.
* One Summer (Drama)
* The John Lennon Story, ( TV Movie) 2000
* 79 Journeys, AS productions documentary film for the Liverpool
2008 Capital of Culture.
* Beatles Story
Liverpool Echo - 22nd July 2004
