The Merseyside Transport Trust

Liverpool Corporation Passenger Transport (known at first as "Liverpool Corporation Tramways") first came into being back in 1897, but did not run buses until 1910. The earliest bus in our collection dates from 1946. The LCPT era ended with the formation of the Merseyside Passenger Transport Executive (MPTE) in December 1969.

To see a list of our buses from the LCPT era, just hover your cursor over the white menu button above, and a drop-down list will appear. Then simply click on the vehicle that interests you to be taken to its page.

If the fleet number in the drop-down list is marked with an asterix (*) the bus is currently taxed, tested and running.

Buses in this section were delivered new to the LCPT.
