All photographs on this page are COPYRIGHT Mark Hodge.

Mark Hodge took these photographs around 1990 - the year that the Pier Head Bus Station was demolished, the floating roadway destroyed and the Merseybus fleet banished to a bit of wasteland slightly nearer to the Irish Sea.

The quality of some of the photographs is not perfect, but they all capture the atmosphere of the early post-deregulation era, when buses wore all sorts of strange liveries.

The first picture is of particular interest as it shows 1365 (DKC 365L) during its stay at Green Lane, after the Wirral Division had finished with it. This bus has now been restored to its original Wirral Division livery and appears at many of our events.
