3rd Annual Running Day
21st September 2008

Updated 25/08/2008

Building on the success of the last two years' events, the MTT's 3rd Annual Running day will be held on Sunday 21st September 2008. This years Running Day will again be focused on Penny Lane and Woolton and will also include Merseytravel's Liverpool South Parkway (LSP) Station, Garston, which they have very kindly allowed us to use as a south Liverpool hub once again.

Routes

Core routes will operated between Pier Head and Liverpool South Parkway, calling at Penny Lane and Woolton. There will also be some special workings on extra routes to supplement these core routes and these will be detailed in the programme, which for the first time this year can be obtained before the Running Day from our head office, details of which can be found below. Also included in the programme will be everything you need to know about the day to try and make it a more enjoyable experience for all!

Vehicles

The proposed fleet running on the day (subject to availability) is hoped to be:
Leyland PD2 L255
AEC Regent A267
Leyland Atlantean PDR L501, L835, 1111, 1236
Leyland Panther 1054 (Pending completion of restoration)
Bristol RE 2025 (Pending completion of restoration)
Leyland Atlantean AN68 1836, 1055

All the above are subject to availability on the day and should a bus not be available then it may be substituted for another vehicle. For more details on what these vehicles will be running on the day, please refer to the programme and running boards. Details will be available on the day of any changes which have occurred to the vehicle allocation. Most of these vehicles will be running the core routes throughout the day, but some will be straying off these routes to provide special workings as mentioned above, but details of all these can be found in the programme.

Obtaining your Programme

The programme will be available from us in advance of the Running Day at the beginning of September. We hope that having it available prior to the event will allow you to plan your day in order to get maximum enjoyment from it.

You can obtain your programme by sending a cheque/postal order for £4 (made payable to "Merseyside Transport Trust") to our main office at: Carlton House, 17-19 Carlton Street, Liverpool, L3 7ED and we will send you your programme when it goes to print. Please include your address details with your payment.

We hope to have running boards available for purchase on the day to allow you to see which vehicles are operating which routes. By using these running boards you will be able to see which connections you can make and plan any photography to make sure you get the shots you want.
